Corps dancers serve as the backbone of the company’s performances, creating unified stage pictures and supporting principal artists while upholding the artistic integrity and professional standards of Ballet de Catalunya.
Why are you not accepting applications from women for the corps de ballet?
Under the new artistic direction, Ballet de Catalunya has decided that for the 2026–2028 seasons, all available female corps de ballet positions will be filled exclusively by members of the Trainee group.
This decision reflects:
The exceptional talent within the Trainee program.
The company’s commitment to education and internal talent development.
The recognition of the Trainee group as a central pillar of the Ballet de Catalunya’s structure.
By promoting Trainee members, the company reinforces its dedication to nurturing and advancing homegrown talent.

- Minimum Experience: 2 years in similar position
- Minimum Height: 175 cm (5’9”)

Why to join US?
- Ballet de Catalunya is one of the few companies in Spain with a stable corps de ballet, performing a diverse repertoire that includes classical works (such as The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Paquita), neoclassical pieces (Romeo and Juliet), and contemporary productions. The company aims to premiere at least one classical work and one neoclassical or contemporary production each season.
- As a company with a more familial rather than institutional structure, all dancers participate in every production and frequently perform in soloist roles. Unlike larger companies, here you do not need to wait years for the opportunity to perform.
- The company is also the only one that performs almost every year on the stage of the Gran Teatre del Liceu – Barcelona Opera House during its Gala of Stars, where the company participates and premieres new choreographies.
- One of the most unique opportunities Ballet de Catalunya offers is the chance to perform on internationally renowned stages, such as the New York City Center, the Barcelona Opera House (Gran Teatre del Liceu), the Dubai Opera House, and other prestigious venues. These opportunities arise because the company is the organizer of the IBStage Stars Galas, which are held at these iconic locations, and Artistic Director Leo Sorribes, who leads the galas, ensures that his dancers are part of these performances. This gives dancers direct exposure to high-profile international stages and the chance to premiere new choreographies in front of global audiences.
- The company’s artistic leadership is committed to incorporating contemporary choreographers into the repertoire, providing dancers with meaningful opportunities for artistic growth.
- Under the guidance of our new Artistic Director, Leo Sorribes, Ballet de Catalunya fosters a positive work environment. Values such as teamwork, professionalism, and positive energy are highly regarded. Conversely, behaviors such as bullying, harassment, body shaming, spreading rumors, or any actions that negatively affect the work environment are strictly prohibited and may result in dismissal.
- If you are looking for a company that embraces these principles and offers real opportunities to grow as an artist, we welcome your application to Ballet de Catalunya.
